Piper Companies is seeking a Hardware Manager to join a growing startup within the technology and hardware development industry. The Hardware Manager role is focused on leading complex system-level hardware programs, and the Hardware Manager will drive products from early concept through full production while balancing technical depth and program leadership. The Hardware Engineering Manager role requires you to sit onsite in Saratoga, CA 5 days per week.
Responsibilities of the Hardware Manager:
- Lead system-level hardware development from concept, prototype, and qualification through production release.
- Own delivery against quality, cost, schedule, and budget targets.
- Create and manage project plans, risks, mitigation strategies, and milestone reviews.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and make key architectural and design decisions.
- Manage ODM/JDM partners to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with product management, architecture, ASIC, software, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements of the Hardware Manager:
- 10+ years of system-level hardware development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Experience at the Manager or Senior Manager level (non-Director).
- Strong technical background in high-speed PCBs, ASICs, processors, FPGAs, and power delivery.
- Proven ability to bridge hardware engineering execution and program leadership.
Compensation for the Hardware Manager:
- Salary range: $200,000 - $270,000 depending on experience
