Facilities Maintenance Technician

Piper Companies is hiring multiple Facilities Maintenance Technician (s) to support day-to-day building and facility operations within a GMP-regulated environment out of Silver Spring, MD. This role will focus on general maintenance, building rounds, fit-and-finish repairs, and rapid response to facility issues, while ensuring a safe, functional, and compliant workplace.

Responsibilities of the Facilities Maintenance Technician:

·       Perform daily building rounds to monitor facility condition, identify issues, and ensure operational readiness

·       Execute general maintenance and fit/finish repairs (doors, fixtures, walls, ceilings, flooring, minor repairs)

·       Respond to and resolve facility and building issues including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical concerns

·       Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems and equipment

·       Support basic HVAC operations, including troubleshooting, filter changes, and coordination of repairs

·       Document work activity using CMMS systems, ensuring accurate records and follow-up

Qualifications of the Facilities Maintenance Technician:

·       1-5+ years experience working as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, Handyman, Building Services or related role

·       Hands-on experience maintaining HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

·       Ability to independently troubleshoot and respond to building system issues

·       Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated laboratory environment is strongly preferred

·       Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)

·       Familiarity with CMMS systems and electronic work order tracking

·       Willingness to participate in on-call rotation, as needed

·       Understanding of working within regulated environments

·       OSHA, EPA, HVAC, Plumbing, NCCER, CMRT (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician), CFT, Certified Facilities Technician, Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Boiler Certification desired (not required)

Compensation for the Facilities Maintenance Technician:

·       Salary: $20.00/hr – $35.00/hr commensurate with experience (***based on years of relevant experience***)
