Senior Thermal Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Thermal Engineer to support an industry‑leading hardware organization developing cutting‑edge server‑class compute systems. The Thermal Engineer will focus heavily on advanced liquid‑cooling technologies and will operate onsite five days a week in Saratoga, CA.

Responsibilities of the Thermal Engineer:

• Design, develop, and optimize liquid‑cooling solutions specifically for server‑class compute hardware.

• Lead thermal characterization, analysis, and validation activities for high‑performance systems.

• Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams to ensure successful integration of liquid‑cooling architectures.

• Identify thermal risks, propose technical solutions, and drive resolution through data‑driven experiments.

• Support full lifecycle development from concept through production, including test planning and execution.

Qualifications of the Thermal Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience in liquid‑cooling thermal engineering.

• Demonstrated experience developing liquid‑cooling solutions for server‑class compute platforms (not EV, automotive, or consumer electronics).

• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal simulation tools.

• Hands‑on experience with system‑level thermal validation and testing methodologies.

Compensation for the Thermal Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $260,000 – $300,000 depending on experience
