Piper Companies is seeking a Security Network Automation Engineer to support a rapidly growing organization within the technology and services industry. The Security Network Automation Engineer will be responsible for enhancing network security posture, automating operational processes, and supporting large‑scale infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities of the Security Network Automation Engineer:
• Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures with a focus on routing protocols including BGP and related networking standards.
• Automate network and security workflows using Python, APIs, and modern automation frameworks.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) templates to streamline configuration and deployment across environments.
• Ensure compliance with NIST standards and other industry security frameworks while supporting audits and documentation efforts.
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux‑based systems utilized in network and automation operations.
Qualifications of the Security Network Automation Engineer:
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in network engineering, network security, or network automation.
• Strong understanding of BGP, routing, switching, and core networking protocols.
• Experience with NIST security standards and related cybersecurity frameworks.
• Proficiency with Linux systems administration in production environments.
• Advanced Python scripting skills for automation and integration.
• Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure network architecture best practices.
Compensation for the Security Network Automation Engineer includes:
• Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000 depending on experience
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
