Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer to support a leading organization within the technology and digital infrastructure industry. The Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer role is ideal for an engineer who can translate regulatory mandates into technical requirements while executing hands-on cloud, networking, and compliance automation. The Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer role is a 1 year contract to hire opportunity and allows you to work remote in EST Hours. This role cannot provide sponsorship.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer:

• Deconstruct regulatory mandates (NIS2, SOC 2, Article 21) into actionable engineering requirements.
• Implement Compliance-as-Code using OPA, AWS Config, or similar policy automation tools.
• Build and automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Support cloud-native networking architectures including VPCs, transit gateways, SDN, and Zero Trust principles.
• Collaborate with an observability team to maintain full traceability and audit readiness.
• Document and enforce technical controls supporting the Sovereign Data Controller model.

Requirements of the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer:

• Strong background in IaC using Terraform, Ansible, and Python automation.
• Experience with policy-as-code (OPA, AWS Config).
• Deep networking expertise including SDN, Zero Trust, routing, and cloud-native networking.
• CISSP preferred.

Compensation for the Sr. Platform & Network Security Engineer:

• $150,000 - $200,000
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
