IT Systems Specialist Lead

Piper Companies is seeking a IT Systems Specialist Lead to support a leader in the American tobacco manufacturing industry for a 6 month term on site role based in Greensboro, NC. The IT Systems Specialist Lead will be responsible for providing technical and service leadership, to design, govern, deploy, and support plant floor and warehouse technology solutions that leads to safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities of IT Systems Specialist Lead Include:

• Serving as technical lead for manufacturing and operational technology solutions, establishing design standards and ensuring architectural alignment across OT, IT, and cloud environments
• Own and guide complex integrations such as SCADA/PLC to applications, MES/MOM to SAP, and make primary technical decisions across connected systems
• Defining configuration baselines, integration patterns, and technical guidelines
• Over see IT service deliver for plant systems using ITIL aligned practices, ensuring service levels for performance, reliability, and system availability
• Translate operational requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and acceptance criteria

Qualifications for the IT Systems Specialist Lead include:

·      10+ years of IT experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, or OT environments

·      Proven leadership experience in solution design, governance, and service deliver for complex, integrated systems

·      Proven experience with Legacy and Modern Applications stacks such as Mixed .Net Framework, Classic ASP, VB6, VBScript, MSMQ, C#, angular modern web stack and IIS based systems

·      Proven experience in Database and Server Technologies such as SQL Server, Windows Server, and Windows 11

·      ITIL Foundation certification preferred

·      Experience with SAP (PP/MM), MES/MOM, warehouse execution, or automation platforms preferred

·      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields

Compensation for the IT Systems Specialist Lead:

·      Salary Range: $141,440-$150,000 per year based on professional experience
