Principle Cloud Developer

Piper Companies is seeking a Principle Cloud Engineer to support a leader in the brokerage industry for a hybrid role based in Jersey City, NJ. The Principle Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working closely as a technical lead with the Tech Lead, Product Owners, and architects to define and implement technical strategies and design solutions.

Responsibilities of the Principle Cloud Engineer Include:

• Designing and building high quality solutions that align with the technology blueprint and standard development processes
• Translating divisional initiatives into effective software solutions by developing applications and evaluating alternative approaches.
• Analyzing and recommending improvements to development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies
• Collaborating with architects to solve complex business challenges and contributing to design strategies and development efforts to ensure quality outcomes

Qualifications for the Principle Cloud Engineer include:

·      6-10+ years of experience in Java, Spring Framework, Kafka development environment

·      Proven experience in designing microservices through applying software design patterns, twelve factor app methodology, and SOLID principles

·      Experience with Kubernetes

·      Experience with Kafka, SNS, SWS

·      Proficient in databases and SQL

·      Experienced with AWS Cloud Native development, infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, and CI/CD such as Jenkins Core

·      Experience in brokerage or financial services preferred

·      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer science or related field

Compensation for the Principle Cloud Engineer:

·      Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000 USD per year based on professional experience
