Senior Cloud Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a leader in the brokerage industry for a hybrid role based in Merrimack, NH. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working closely with technical leaders, product owners, and architects to build reliable services through modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities of the Senior Cloud Engineer Include:

• Mentoring junior software engineers with industry standards for cloud-native software development
•  Designing and building resilient fault-tolerant systems that will operate in unreliable environments
• Interpreting and analyzing product requirements, translating them into scalable and secure cloud-native technical implementations that are aligned with business goals and architectural standards
• Evaluating trade-offs, identifying dependencies, and applying appropriate design patterns that optimize performance, resiliency, and maintainability

Qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer include:

·      7-10+ years of software experience

·      4+ years of experience building RESTful microservices through Java and Spring Boot

·      2+ years of proven experience with AWS Cloud Native development, infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, and CI/CD such as Jenkins Core

·      Proficient in Kubernetes, AWS services such as Lambda, AWS Batch, Dynamo Database, EC2, SQS, SNS, Aurora Postgres database

·      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer science or related field

Compensation for the Senior Cloud Engineer:

·      Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000 USD per year based on professional experience
