Principle Systems Analyst

Piper Companies is seeking a Principle Systems Analyst to support a leader in the brokerage industry for a hybrid role based in Jersey City, NJ. The Principle Systems Analyst will be responsible for modernization across business, architecture, and software engineering areas.

Responsibilities of the Principle Systems Analyst Include:

• Understanding the data platform and its applications, data flow, integrations, inputs and outputs
• Reverse engineering requirements from legacy system to modernize them
• Acting as a facilitator between the business and technology team
• Producing business flow diagrams
• Understand system interactions and able to explain it to technical and non-technical audiences

Qualifications for the Principle Systems Analyst include:

·      6-10+ years of proven experience as a Systems Analyst in handling complex data platforms, especially modernizing data from legacy platforms to cloud systems

·      Experience with Mainframe COBOL, VSAM files

·      Experience in Brokerage – Trades Processing and/or Settlements Domain

·      Experience in utilizing Agile methodology

·      Experience with REST, SOAP, JSON, and APIs

·      Experienced in Java microservices, Restful APIs, and cloud services such as AWS

·      Experienced in using Structured Query Language (SQL) and handling databases such as DB2, Oracle, and Postgres

·      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or related major

Compensation for the Principle Systems Analyst:

·      Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 USD per year based on professional experience
