Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Power Engineer to join a cutting edge startup specializing in next‑generation AI, high‑performance compute, and advanced networking hardware located near San Jose, CA to lead the design and development of high‑efficiency power delivery solutions supporting cutting‑edge semiconductor and AI platforms.

Responsibilities for the Senior Power Engineer:

  • Drive the design of advanced, high‑efficiency DC‑DC power conversion systems that support AI accelerators, networking hardware, and high‑power ASICs.
  • Architect board‑level and package‑level power delivery networks (PDNs) optimized for performance, thermal efficiency, manufacturability, and long‑term reliability.
  • Lead IR‑drop analysis, simulation, validation, and system‑level optimization for high‑current, low‑voltage AI and compute platforms.
  • Innovate power architectures for large BGA devices and extreme‑current ASICs using OCP‑class rack power systems

Qualifications for the Senior Power Engineer:

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a power electronics or power supply design engineer, developing PCB‑based and/or package‑level power systems.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Strong background in designing power delivery networks (PDNs) for high‑power ASICs, large BGA packages, or high‑density compute hardware.
  • Deep understanding of high‑efficiency DC‑DC conversion topologies, multi‑phase power architectures, and system‑level power distribution.
  • Proficiency with power simulation tools such as SPICE or equivalent, including stability analysis and modeling.
  • Solid knowledge of PCB power integrity concepts including IR‑drop, loss modeling, and PDN optimization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

Compensation/Benefits for the Senior Power Engineer:

  • Salary Range: $210,000 - $260,000 plus equity
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave (as required by law), and Paid Holidays.
