Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Clinical Applications to join a leading healthcare provider organization. This is a full‑time, 12 month contract‑to‑hire, hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA. This opportunity supporting enterprise‑level clinical application initiatives within a provider‑based healthcare environment. The Senior Project Manager – Clinical Applications will lead complex projects and programs, partner closely with clinical and executive stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of clinical and healthcare technology solutions.


Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager – Clinical Applications:

  • Lead and manage clinical application projects and programs, including initiatives consisting of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle including planning, requirements development, execution, testing, go‑live, stabilization, and post‑implementation review.
  • Partner closely with clinical leadership, healthcare operations, IT teams, and executive stakeholders to align technology delivery with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate the activities and deliverables of 2–10 cross‑functional team members across clinical, business, and technical areas.
  • Manage the evaluation, development, and implementation of both custom and packaged healthcare software solutions.
  • Oversee clinical application implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and integrations within a provider environment.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts including project plans, work breakdown structures, testing documentation, and go‑live planning materials.
  • Provide clear, concise project and status updates to leadership and stakeholders, including executive‑level reporting.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
  • Translate business and clinical needs into clear functional and business requirements.
  • Ensure solutions align with healthcare regulatory, compliance, privacy, and security requirements.
  • Support consistent use of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational initiatives.

Qualifications / Requirements for the Senior Project Manager – Clinical Applications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 7+ years of project management experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility and project complexity
  • Demonstrated experience leading clinical application implementations in a provider‑based healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations and systems
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
  • Strong experience working with clinical leadership, business stakeholders, and executive management
  • Experience evaluating, managing, and implementing custom and packaged software solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (project plans, work breakdown structures, testing artifacts, go‑live planning, etc.)
  • Strong business analysis skills, including business and functional requirements development
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of application development, database management, and operating systems is desirable

Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications:

  • Clinical background
  • Provider organization experience
  • Revenue Cycle experience
  • Experience with Epic or other EHR platforms (Epic certifications a plus, not required)
  • PMP certification
