Global Head of Data Science

Piper Companies is seeking a Global Head of Data Science to join an innovative organization within the clinical research and life sciences industry for a remote, permanent, executive-level opportunity. The Global Head of Data Science will provide enterprise-wide leadership across clinical data management, biostatistics, and statistical programming, driving scientific excellence, commercial growth, and global differentiation for a leading organization supporting clinical development programs worldwide.

Responsibilities of the Global Head of Data Science include:

· Establish and lead a global data science strategy that unifies data management, biostatistics, and statistical programming into a cohesive, client-facing capability.

· Drive portfolio innovation and differentiation by translating advanced analytics, regulatory science, and emerging methodologies into scalable, market-ready solutions.

· Act as an executive scientific partner to key global clients, providing strategic insight on study design, regulatory expectations, and data-driven decision making.

· Own global financial performance for the data science function, including revenue growth, pricing strategy, margin optimization, and investment planning.

· Set enterprise governance standards to ensure inspection readiness, regulatory compliance, and proactive management of scientific and operational risk.

Qualifications for the Global Head of Data Science include:

· Advanced degree (PhD, MD, MSc, or equivalent) in biostatistics, statistics, data science, epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline.

· 12-18 years of progressive leadership experience within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.

· Demonstrated success leading large, global, multidisciplinary data science or analytics organizations.

· Proven P&L ownership with strong commercial acumen and experience scaling profitable service portfolios.

· Extensive experience engaging senior sponsor leadership and interacting with global health authorities.

Compensation for the Global Head of Data Science:

Salary Range: $300,000-$350,000/year (flexible dependent on experience)
