Piper Companies is seeking a Buyer/Purchasing Specialist to support a medical device company in Audubon, PA through an onsite, full-time position. This role will primarily focus on managing purchasing and procurement activities by reviewing requisitions, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, analyzing costs, maintaining procurement data, and ensuring materials and services are sourced cost-effectively, on schedule, and at the highest quality.


Responsibilities of the Buyer/Purchasing Specialist include:

  • Review and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier quote requests to support operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and accounts payable to ensure timely deliveries and accurate invoices.
  • Track supplier performance and address issues related to delayed shipments, quality concerns, or order discrepancies.
  • Perform cost analysis and volume planning for materials, components, and services to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate procurement system data while supporting inventory planning and overall supply chain coordination.

 

Qualifications of the Buyer/Purchasing Specialist include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred, along with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to work independently with strong organizational and technical skills is desired
  • Proficient background in working for a medical device manufacturer is desired
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills, with confidence interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver high-quality customer service while meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office—especially Excel—for data analysis and problem solving, with strong critical thinking skills; experience in the medical device manufacturing industry is a plus.

 

Compensation for the Buyer/Purchasing Specialist includes:

  • Salary Range: $65,000-70,000 annually
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave (as required by law), and Paid Holidays
