Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Power Design Engineer to lead the design and development of high‑efficiency power delivery solutions for advanced AI, networking, and data center platforms. The Senior Power Design Engineer will collaborate closely with ASIC, Mechanical, Thermal, and Systems Engineering teams to ensure next‑generation compute hardware receives robust, reliable, and highly efficient power. This is a full‑time position supporting cutting‑edge infrastructure technologies and will be fully onsite in Saratoga, CA.
Responsibilities for the Senior Power Design Engineer include:
· Designing and developing high‑efficiency DC‑DC power conversion systems, including detailed circuit analysis, simulation, and control‑loop stabilization.
· Architecting and implementing board‑level power conversion solutions optimized for performance, reliability, availability, and cost.
· Creating advanced power supply solutions that support high‑power AI workloads and next‑generation networking platforms.
· Designing and optimizing multi‑phase, low‑voltage, high‑current power delivery systems for modern ASICs.
· Performing PCB power integrity analysis, including IR‑drop, power‑loss modeling, and full PDN optimization using industry‑standard simulation tools.
· Supporting power delivery layout for large BGA packages, ensuring proper current distribution and thermal compliance.
· Leading validation, testing, and debugging activities to ensure power supplies meet performance, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications for the Senior Power Design Engineer include:
· 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power electronics, or related fields.
· 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing power supplies and DC‑DC conversion systems.
· Deep expertise with high‑efficiency DC‑DC architectures and multi‑phase system design.
· Strong proficiency in simulation tools (SPICE or equivalent).
· In‑depth understanding of control‑loop design, stability analysis, and compensation techniques.
· Experience developing high‑current, low‑voltage solutions for vertical power delivery applications.
· Proven background designing power delivery systems for high‑power ASICs or large BGA devices.
· Strong knowledge of PCB power integrity, IR‑drop analysis, and PDN optimization.
· Familiarity with AI hardware platforms, HPC systems, or data center‑scale infrastructure.
Compensation for the Senior Power Design Engineer includes:
· Salary range: $210,000 - $265,000
