Lead Data Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to support a leading hospital network in the greater Philadelphia area. This individual will play a key role in building and scaling modern data platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric and cloud-based data solutions. This role requires onsite availability in Fort Washington, PA. on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities of the Lead Data Engineer:

• Design and build scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and data lake solutions
• Lead data architecture and integration efforts within Microsoft Fabric and cloud environments
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for enterprise data initiatives
• Partner with clinical, business, and IT stakeholders to deliver data-driven solution
• Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across data engineering efforts

Qualifications of the Lead Data Engineer:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar tools (Fabric strongly preferred)
• Experience with modern data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or dbt
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts

Compensation for the Lead Data Engineer:

• Salary: $140,000 – $150,000 annually
