Piper Companies is partnering with an innovative technology organization to hire a Principal Developer Marketing Manager. The company builds software that enables real-time data connectivity across applications, databases, and platforms. In this role, you’ll lead how the company engages and supports developers, shaping developer-facing messaging and content in close collaboration with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams. You’ll help translate complex capabilities into clear, practical guidance that drives adoption and trust.

Key Responsibilities of the Principal Developer Marketing Manager:
- Own and evolve developer-facing messaging, positioning, and content for CData products
- Create high-quality technical content, including:
- API documentation and integration guides
- Architecture diagrams and deep dives
- Quickstarts and tutorials that actually run
- Partner closely with engineering to understand product internals and translate them into clear, usable guidance
- Act as a relentless advocate for developer experience—spot broken flows, confusing docs, or failing samples, and fix them
- Build and maintain code samples, demos, and reference integrations
- Support product launches with technically accurate, developer-first storytelling
- Influence product roadmaps by bringing developer feedback and usability insights to the table
Qualifications of the Principal Developer Marketing Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years in product marketing, developer relations, or technical content in data infrastructure, developer tools, or connectivity platforms (or 5+ years with a relevant Master’s degree)
- Comfortable reading API docs, making API calls, debugging authentication issues, and writing working code samples
- Proven ability to write technical content for developers that is accurate, concise, and immediately useful
- Strong instinct for developer experience—you notice when a quickstart is broken or a sample won’t compile
- A public technical artifact (GitHub repo, technical blog, demo video, sample app, etc.) that demonstrates how you build and share
- Prior experience working in a startup or fast-paced growth environment
Compensation & Benefits for the Principal Developer Marketing Manager:
- Rate: $225,000-$250,000
- Benefits: Full medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and sick leave as required by law
