Piper Companies is seeking a Network SRE for a world-leading technology organization within the technology and cloud infrastructure industry. The Network SRE role is focused on building, automating, and operating highly observable and reliable network platforms that support large-scale, distributed systems. An ideal candidate for the Network SRE role brings strong experience in network engineering combined with software-driven automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Python to improve reliability, visibility, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities of the Network SRE:
• Design, implement, and maintain network observability solutions to ensure performance, availability, and rapid troubleshooting across complex environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform to provision and manage network resources.
• Automate network configuration, validation, and remediation workflows using Ansible.
• Build Python-based tools and services to enhance network monitoring, alerting, and operational automation.
• Collaborate with SRE, platform, and security teams to improve network reliability and resilience.
• Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for network services.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews with a focus on automation-driven prevention.
Qualifications of the Network SRE:
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering, SRE, or infrastructure-focused roles.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, BGP, routing, switching, and load balancing.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Strong Python development skills for building automation and observability tooling.
• Experience with network monitoring and observability platforms (metrics, logs, and tracing).
• Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in AWS, Azure, or GCP is strongly preferred.
Compensation for the Network SRE includes:
• Salary range: $120,000 - $170,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
