IT Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support and maintain critical technology systems within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This IT Systems Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with strong Tier 2 support experience who thrives in an onsite, fast-paced production setting and is passionate about keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities of the IT Systems Engineer:

• Provide Tier 2 technical support for end-user devices, manufacturing systems, and site infrastructure in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware

• Support Windows-based operating systems, standard enterprise applications, and manufacturing-related systems

• Perform onsite technical support five days per week, acting as a primary IT presence for the facility

• Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in accordance with IT and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure system reliability and minimal downtime

• Escalate complex issues to Tier 3 teams as needed and assist with root cause analysis

• Support hardware refreshes, system upgrades, and new device deployments

Qualifications of the IT Systems Engineer:

• 4+ years of IT support or systems engineering experience with a strong focus on Tier 2 troubleshooting

• Previous experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated manufacturing environments

• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, and enterprise endpoint support

• Hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting, and supporting end-user devices and onsite infrastructure

• Ability to work full-time onsite in Clayton, NC (5 days per week)

• Strong communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users

Compensation for the IT Systems Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 – $160,000 depending on experience
