Piper Companies is seeking a Project Manager for an award winning technology organization in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. The Project Manager role is a hybrid position supporting enterprise-wide observability initiatives. The Project Manager will lead the implementation of Datadog across the organization, partnering closely with infrastructure, network, cloud, and application teams. An ideal candidate for the Project Manager role is a technically fluent project manager with a strong background in infrastructure-focused initiatives and enterprise tooling rollouts.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager:
• Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of a Datadog implementation across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies for observability initiatives.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including infrastructure, network, security, DevOps, and application stakeholders.
• Manage scope, risks, issues, and change control throughout the lifecycle of the Datadog implementation.
• Ensure alignment between technical teams and business objectives, translating technical requirements into actionable project plans.
• Track and report on project progress, status, risks, and metrics to leadership and key stakeholders.
• Support process improvements and documentation related to monitoring, observability, and operational readiness.
Qualifications of the Project Manager:
• 3+ years of project management experience, with a strong focus on infrastructure or platform-related projects.
• Proven experience managing enterprise technology implementations (monitoring, observability, cloud, infrastructure, or similar).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts including networking, servers, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with observability or monitoring tools such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall, Jira, Confluence, MS Project, etc.).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Compensation for the Project Manager includes:
• Salary range: $100,000 - $135,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick Leave as required by law
