Piper Companies is looking for a Telecom Technical Analyst to join a global technology organization delivering advanced networking and telecommunications solutions in a hybrid position onsite in Ottawa, Canada. The ideal Telecom Technical Analyst will provide Tier 2 technical support for centralized policy and routing platforms, ensuring reliable performance for customer deployments.
Responsibilities for the Telecom Technical Analyst:
- Serve as a trusted technical partner for customers, owning complex escalated issues from investigation through resolution
- Troubleshoot production environments by analyzing logs, configurations, and system behavior to identify root causes
- Reproduce customer issues in lab environments and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve defects
- Support system upgrades, patches, and ongoing platform stability while participating in an on‑call rotation
Qualifications for the Telecom Technical Analyst:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical support, systems engineering, or network engineering role
- Must be authorized to work in Canada and able to support on‑call rotations as required
- Hands‑on experience supporting VoIP technologies and call signaling protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP, RTP/RTCP)
- Strong experience working with Linux/Unix operating systems in production environments
- Experience with database management, ideally PostgreSQL and/or Oracle
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, routing, DNS, NAT, RADIUS, and SNMP
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Compensation/Benefits for the Telecom Technical Analyst:
- Salary range: USD $65,000 – $95,000 per year (based on experience)
