Network Engineer (Hybrid)

Piper Companies is seeking a Network Engineer II to support a leading healthcare services organization through hybrid work in Columbia, MD. This role is ideal for a senior‑level network engineer who enjoys designing, implementing, and supporting complex LAN/WAN and data center networks while serving as a technical expert across project teams.

Responsibilities of the Network Engineer II:

• Design, plan, implement, and support large‑enterprise LAN, WAN, and data center network solutions.

• Act as a technical consultant across multiple project teams, supporting architecture decisions and delivery timelines.

• Provide Tier‑3 support for complex network issues using advanced troubleshooting and performance analysis tools.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation plans; support evaluation of new technologies and vendors.

Qualifications of the Network Engineer II:

• 5+ years of experience supporting large‑enterprise LAN/WAN and data center environments.

• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR).

• Advanced knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, enterprise WAN/Internet circuits, and inter‑data‑center connectivity.

• Experience with enterprise network security technologies (NGFWs, VPNs, SD‑WAN, NAC).

• Proficiency with SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar monitoring and packet‑analysis tools.

• Experience with Cisco Meraki switching and wireless; F5 LTM exposure preferred.

• CCNA/CCNP (or higher) preferred.

Compensation of the Network Engineer II:

• Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000 (based on experience)
