Associate Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an Associate Engineer I to support a well-established electrical engineering, design-build organization out of Suwanee, GA. The Associate Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting structured cabling systems across enterprise, data center, and telecom environments.

Responsibilities of the Associate Engineer:

·       Review engineering documents (shop drawings, commissioning plans, submittals) to confirm scope clarity, constructability, and testing requirements

·       Support field and project teams by translating design intent into installation and commissioning guidance

·       Assist with project coordination activities, including RFIs, material tracking, schedule impacts, and subcontractor dependencies

·       Perform quality checks of telecommunications installations and related predecessor/successor work for standards compliance

·       Support commissioning coordination, progress tracking, and preparation of closeout documentation

Qualifications of the Associate Engineer:

·       1+ year of engineering, construction, or telecommunications-related experience (internship/co-op applicable)

·       Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred (ABET-accredited program ideal)

·       Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings, specifications, and installation documentation

·       Revit & AutoCAD Experience

·       Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through

Compensation for the Associate Engineer:

·       Salary: $70,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience
