Sr. Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support an organization in the financial services and insurance industry for a hybrid role based in Durham, NC. The Sr. Software Engineer role will be responsible for a Node.js back-end and a React.js front-end while also supporting a team on side projects, proof of concepts, and production maintenance.

Responsibilities of the Sr. Software Engineer:

• Implement scalable REST APIs and application UIs
• Identify bottlenecks and improve software efficiency
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs
• Contribute towards unit tests and test-automation 
• Documentation for internal and external clients 

Qualifications of the Sr. Software Engineer:

• 2-5+ years of professional experience as a full stack engineer
• Proven experience in back-end development with languages such as Node.js, Java (8+), etc.
• Proven experience in front-end frameworks such as ReactJS/Typescript
• Proven experience in AWS cloud environments
• Experience in SQL and relational databases preferred
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field from an accredited university

Compensation for the Sr. Software Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $125,000 – $140,000 USD per year depending on professional experience
