Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Trade Compliance Analyst to join a global organization operating within a highly regulated multinational environment onsite in San Jose, CA Monday - Friday. The Senior Trade Compliance Analyst role is ideal for an experienced trade compliance professional with deep expertise in U.S. import/export regulations, customs operations, and global sanctions compliance, supporting complex cross‑border supply chains.
Responsibilities of the Senior Trade Compliance Analyst:
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and global trade regulations, including Title 15 (Commerce and Foreign Trade) and Title 19 (Customs Duties).
- Manage and oversee tariff classification, country of origin determinations, and USMCA qualification analyses.
- Support customs entry processes, audits, and broker management to ensure accurate and timely import/export filings.
- Conduct sanctions and restricted party screening in alignment with OFAC, BIS, and other global sanctions regimes.
- Interpret and apply export control regulations, including EAR requirements, licensing, and exceptions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders across supply chain, legal, logistics, and procurement to mitigate trade compliance risk.
- Monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance, training, and compliance recommendations to the business.
- Support internal and external audits, investigations, and government inquiries as needed.
Qualifications of the Senior Trade Compliance Analyst:
- 6–10 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export operations, or customs within a multinational environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability to work onsite in San Jose, CA, five days per week (Monday–Friday).
- Strong working knowledge of Title 15, Title 19, USMCA compliance, tariff classification, and country of origin rules.
- Hands‑on experience with customs entry processes, export controls, and sanctions screening programs.
- In‑depth understanding of OFAC, BIS, and global sanctions regimes.
- Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to real‑world business scenarios.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Compensation for the Senior Trade Compliance Analyst:
- Base salary range: $142,000 – $190,000 depending on experience
