System Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a System Engineer to support the deployment and integration of enterprise monitoring and virtualization platforms within a technology-driven services environment. The System Engineer role is ideal for an infrastructure-focused engineer with hands-on experience deploying tools such as Splunk and VMware ESXi into production environments.

Responsibilities of the System Engineer:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Splunk and/or VMware ESXi within enterprise environments.

• Support system builds, upgrades, and integrations across monitoring and virtualization platforms.

• Partner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure stable and secure deployments.

• Troubleshoot system-level issues related to performance, availability, and integrations.

• Document configurations, deployment procedures, and operational best practices.

Qualifications of the System Engineer:

• 4+ years of experience as a System Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer in enterprise environments.

• Hands-on experience deploying Splunk and/or VMware ESXi into production systems.

• Strong understanding of virtualization, system administration, and infrastructure fundamentals.

• Experience supporting remote or distributed environments.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex system and deployment issues independently.

Compensation for the System Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000 depending on years of experience
