Piper Companies is seeking an End User Device Technician to support the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of technology used by clinical and non-clinical staff in a healthcare setting in Philadelphia, PA. This role focuses on ensuring that workstations, laptops, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and approved software applications are properly installed and configured.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, deploy, configure, and troubleshoot end‑user equipment such as desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
- Image and prepare devices in alignment with organizational standards and healthcare IT requirements.
- Assist users during device handoff by helping them sign in and confirming access to required applications, shared drives, printers, and network resources.
- Provide initial deskside and remote support for hardware, software, peripheral, and basic connectivity issues.
- Accurately document completed work, device configurations, asset details, and issue resolution in the designated ticketing or asset management system.
- Adhere to all IT security, privacy, HIPAA, and organizational policies when handling equipment, user data, and system access.
- Work closely with project managers, end‑user support teams, and clinical or business stakeholders to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Escalate more complex or unresolved technical issues to the appropriate support teams when necessary.
- Assist with equipment inventory management, asset tagging, device moves, and preparation for equipment disposal.
- Travel to healthcare facilities as needed to support deployments, upgrades, and technical initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience supporting desktops, laptops, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, printers, peripherals, and basic network connectivity issues.
- Comfortable imaging, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting end‑user devices in line with organizational standards.
- Strong customer service mindset with clear, professional communication skills when working with end users and stakeholders.
- Able to work independently while following detailed technical procedures, build guides, and deployment instructions.
- Detail‑oriented when documenting tasks completed, device information, asset records, and user‑reported issues.
- Capable of working in both clinical and non‑clinical healthcare environments with professionalism, discretion, and awareness of surroundings.
- Working knowledge of data privacy, information security, and HIPAA‑related responsibilities when handling devices and user information.
- Physically able to lift, move, and transport IT equipment as needed for deployments and refresh projects.
- Reliable transportation available for travel between healthcare facilities when required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous healthcare IT experience.
• Experience with Windows 10/11 migrations or hardware refresh projects.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with OneDrive, VPN, network printers, and endpoint management tools.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or other relevant technical certifications.
