Piper Companies is seeking an End User Device Technician to join a healthcare company located in Philadelphia, PA through a contract position. The EUD Technician will focus primarily on deploying, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the technology used by both clinical and administrative healthcare staff. They collaborate with IT teams, project managers, clinical departments, and end users to carry out credit card machine installations/repairs, hardware refreshes, device replacements, software upgrades, Windows migrations, equipment relocations, and other technology initiatives.
Responsibilities of the End User Device Technician include:
- Deploy, configure, image, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices (monitors, docks, printers, scanners) in accordance with organizational and healthcare IT standards.
- Support OS upgrades, hardware refreshes, device swaps, and software installations, ensuring devices are properly prepared and operational.
- Provide initial deskside and remote support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues; assist users with logins and access to applications, network resources, and peripherals.
- Accurately document work performed, asset details, and issue resolutions in ticketing systems while adhering to IT security, privacy, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with project managers, EUS teams, and business/clinical stakeholders; escalate unresolved issues to appropriate support teams as needed.
- Maintain professionalism across healthcare environments while supporting inventory management, asset tagging, equipment moves/disposal and traveling to sites for deployments and projects.
Qualifications for the End User Device Technician include:
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, printers, peripherals, and basic network connectivity, with the ability to image, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot end-user devices following detailed technical procedures.
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to work independently; maintains high attention to detail when documenting work, device information, and user issues.
- Professional experience working in clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments with an understanding of data privacy, information security, and HIPAA requirements; able to lift and transport IT equipment and travel between healthcare sites as needed.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience working in Healthcare IT
- Background with Windows 10/11 migrations or hardware refresh projects.
- Familiarity using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with OneDrive, VPN, network printers, and endpoint management tools.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or other specialized applicable certifications.
Compensation/Schedule for the End User Device Technician includes:
- Pay Rate Range: $20-23/hour
- Must have reliable means of transportation; role requires travel, including but not limited to, sites in Doylestown, PA and Princeton, NJ
