Linux System Administrator

Piper Companies is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support and maintain secure infrastructure within the technology services industry. The Linux Systems Administrator role focuses on supporting a secure monitoring and automation environment, and the Linux Systems Administrator will play a key role in system reliability, security, and operational support. The Linux Systems Administrator role is a 6 month contract opportunity and allows you to work remote in East Coast Hours.

Responsibilities of the Linux Systems Administrator:

• Administer and maintain Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS) in a secure monitoring environment.
• Install, configure, harden, and patch Linux servers and services.
• Support monitoring, logging, and security tool integrations.
• Develop and maintain automation and scripting, ideally using Python or bash.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Requirements of the Linux Systems Administrator:

• Strong Linux Systems Administration experience (RHEL/CentOS).
• Experience supporting monitoring or security-focused environments.
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (Python preferred).
• Experience with Git-based configuration management or CI/CD workflows.

Compensation for the Linux Systems Administrator:

• $50.00 - $85.00
• Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holiday and Sick Leave if Required by Law.
