Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance

Piper Companies is seeking a Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance to support a leading organization within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. The Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance will provide strategic legal and compliance guidance across commercial and medical functions throughout the product lifecycle. The Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance role is a direct placement with the company, allows you to work remote in EST hours and requires you to travel to Raleigh, NC once per month.

Responsibilities of the Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance:

• Provide legal guidance on FDA and healthcare laws, including FDCA, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Sunshine Act, OIG Guidance, and PhRMA Code
• Serve on promotional review and medical communications review committees
• Support Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient Relations, Regulatory, and Compliance teams
• Advise on patient support, reimbursement programs, and HCP consulting activities
• Assist with compliance policies, SOPs, training, audits, and investigations
• Manage outside counsel and monitor regulatory and enforcement changes

Requirements of the Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• 10+ years of legal experience, including 8+ years in healthcare and FDA law
• 4+ years of in-house counsel experience in pharma or biotech (preferred)
• Experience with Veeva PromoMats (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work remotely in the U.S. (EST preferred) and travel to RTP, NC one week per month

Compensation for the Director of Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance:

• $230,000 - $285,000 base salary + 25% Bonus + Equity
