Piper Companies is seeking an SI Engineering Manager to serve as a hands‑on technical leader focused on system‑level SerDes bring‑up for high‑speed cable and backplane designs. This role partners closely with internal engineering teams, global manufacturing sites, and customers to ensure signal integrity validation, test readiness, and successful factory execution. The SI Engineering Manager is a full‑time role open to location for the right candidate and requires extensive travel to manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities for the SI Engineering Manager include:
· Leading system‑level SerDes bring‑up at global manufacturing sites.
· Owning and defining factory test procedures used for system validation.
· Bringing up and validating bird stations in factory environments.
· Defining test limits, validation thresholds, and pass/fail criteria.
· Applying signal integrity principles at the system level (not purely RF).
· Analyzing and interpreting S‑parameters to support SerDes validation and debug.
· Leveraging electromagnetic simulations to guide SI validation and testing.
· Engaging with customers early to align on expectations, limits, and validation strategies.
· Acting as the technical interface between internal teams, factories, and customers.
· Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance across a distributed engineering team.
Qualifications for the SI Engineering Manager include:
· Strong system‑level Signal Integrity (SI) expertise with required SerDes experience.
· Hands‑on experience with high‑speed interconnects, including cables and backplanes.
· Proven experience working closely with manufacturing and validation teams.
· Deep understanding of electromagnetic simulations and S‑parameter analysis.
· Demonstrated technical leadership through mentorship, coaching, or cross‑team collaboration.
· Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%, including extended stays at factories.
· Background in large hardware or systems companies with system‑level SI exposure strongly preferred.
Compensation for the SI Engineering Manager includes:
· Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000
