Maintenance Technician

Piper Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a regulated pharmaceutical and life sciences environment for an onsite 6-month contract (with potential extension) role based in Silver Spring, Maryland. The Maintenance Technician will support day‑to‑day facility operations by completing routine upkeep, responding to service requests, and assisting senior maintenance staff to ensure building systems remain safe, functional, and compliant.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include:

· Carry out routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on building systems and general facility equipment.

· Respond to work orders and service requests, performing light electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry repairs.

· Partner with building engineers and senior technicians on troubleshooting, repairs, and small facility projects.

· Perform daily building rounds and support both GMP and non‑GMP spaces while following safety and compliance standards.

· Document completed work and observations using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) via tablet.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Technician include:

· Entry‑level candidates or those with up to 5 years of facilities or apartment maintenance experience are encouraged to apply.

· Working knowledge of basic building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.

· Ability to follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and regulated‑environment practices.

· Strong reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from senior technicians and leads.

· Comfortable working onsite with an early morning schedule, starting as early as 6:30 a.m. (up to 8:00 a.m. start).

Compensation for the Maintenance Technician:

Salary Range: $74,000-$84,000/year (USD)
