Azure IAM Engineer (DevOps)

Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Azure IAM Engineer to support cloud identity and access initiatives for an organization within the enterprise technology and cybersecurity industry. The DevOps Azure IAM Engineer role is ideal for a highly technical engineer with deep Azure expertise, strong DevOps experience, and a background in automating identity, access, and security controls in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities of the DevOps Azure IAM Engineer:

• Design, implement, and manage identity and access management solutions using Azure Active Directory (Entra ID).

• Build and maintain IAM automation integrated into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

• Implement and manage RBAC, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and identity governance.

• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions to support secure identity provisioning and access controls.

• Integrate Azure IAM with cloud-native and enterprise applications using SSO, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and SAML.

• Collaborate with security, cloud, and platform engineering teams to embed IAM best practices into Azure environments.

• Troubleshoot complex authentication, authorization, and access issues across hybrid cloud environments.

Qualifications of the DevOps Azure IAM Engineer:

• 5+ years of experience in Azure engineering, IAM, or cloud security roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure AD (Entra ID) and Azure-native security services.

• Heavy DevOps experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated cloud deployments.

• Proficiency with automation and IaC tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.

• Strong understanding of identity protocols, access management, and cloud security best practices.

• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments is strongly preferred.

Compensation for the DevOps Azure IAM Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $135,000 – $155,000 depending on experience
