Security Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Engineer to support the design, integration, and ongoing enhancement of modern security platforms for a technology-driven organization. The Security Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on security professional with experience integrating security tools, securing machine images, and building reliable telemetry and reporting pipelines within a remote environment.

Responsibilities of the Security Engineer:

• Integrate and maintain enterprise security tools across cloud, endpoint, and infrastructure environments.

• Design, harden, and maintain secure system and container images following industry best practices.

• Implement and manage security telemetry, logging, and reporting to support detection and response efforts.

• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and DevOps teams to embed security into system design and deployment workflows.

• Monitor security posture, investigate alerts, and contribute to continuous improvement of security controls.

• Support compliance, vulnerability management, and secure configuration initiatives across the environment.

Qualifications of the Security Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering, security operations, or a related role.

• Hands-on experience integrating security tools such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, or cloud security platforms.

• Strong knowledge of securing system images, containers, or virtual machine builds.

• Experience with telemetry collection, log aggregation, and security reporting.

• Familiarity with Linux environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred).

Compensation for the Security Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $130,000 – $150,000 depending on experience
