QC Micro Associate

Piper Companies is seeking a QC Micro Associate to join a pharmaceutical and biotechnology organization for a full-time, 6-month onsite contract role based in Durham, NC. The QC Micro Associate will support routine microbiological testing and environmental monitoring activities as part of the Quality Control team, contributing to regulatory compliance and daily laboratory operations within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities of the QC Micro Associate include:

· Perform routine environmental monitoring activities, including viable and non-viable sampling within cleanroom and controlled areas.

· Collect and test utility samples such as purified water and other process utilities, including execution of bioburden testing.

· Support microbiology laboratory testing such as endotoxin and general microbial assays in accordance with SOPs.

· Assist with laboratory operations, including media preparation, autoclave use, inventory stocking, and equipment readiness.

· Document all testing activities in compliance with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices and assist with investigations when needed.

Qualifications for the QC Micro Associate include:

· Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field.

· Approximately 2 years of experience in a QC Microbiology or GMP-regulated laboratory setting.

· Hands-on exposure to endotoxin testing, environmental monitoring, or utility sampling preferred.

· Familiarity with aseptic techniques, cleanroom behaviors, and regulated documentation standards.

· Ability to work onsite full-time on a Monday–Friday schedule and collaborate within a small QC team.

Compensation for the QC Micro Associate:

Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000/year (USD)
