Senior Clinical Research Associate

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to support vaccine-focused clinical trials for an established organization within the clinical research industry. This Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA) opportunity is a 6-month fully remote contract (with potential extensions) operating in a full-service model, with preference for candidates located in the Central or Western regions of the United States.

Responsibilities of the Senior Clinical Research Associate include:

· Lead and execute independent monitoring activities for Phase II and Phase III vaccine studies, incorporating both onsite and remote visits with an average of 8–10 onsite days per month.

· Act as the main point of contact for assigned investigative sites, fostering strong partnerships and providing ongoing operational and protocol-level support.

· Confirm that trial execution aligns with study protocols, GCP, ICH standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

· Evaluate site performance, data integrity, and compliance metrics while proactively identifying risks and driving timely resolution.

· Complete high-quality monitoring documentation, including visit reports, follow-up letters, and ongoing site communications.

Qualifications for the Senior Clinical Research Associate include:

· Minimum of 2+ years of vaccine or infectious disease monitoring experience, with approximately 3 years of independent onsite monitoring preferred.

· Direct experience supporting Phase II and Phase III clinical trials within a full-service or CRO environment, ideally partnering with biotech sponsors.

· Proven ability to function independently, including serving as the primary or sole CRA on assigned studies.

· Willingness to travel regionally, live within one hour of a major airport, and meet required onsite monitoring expectations.

· Bachelor’s degree not required for senior-level consideration if equivalent clinical research experience can be demonstrated.

Compensation for the Senior Clinical Research Associate:

Salary Range: $155,000–$175,000/year (USD)
