Piper Companies is seeking a Regional Account Manager - Government Specialist to drive new business across Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. This is a field‑based, hunter‑focused sales role responsible for winning net‑new federal and contractor accounts through consistent outbound activity and in‑person engagement, with approximately 25–30% regional travel.


Responsibilities of the Regional Account Manager – Government Specialist:


• Drive new revenue by identifying, pursuing, and closing new opportunities within federal agencies and government contractor accounts.

• Execute a high‑activity sales strategy including cold outreach, on‑site customer meetings, and relationship‑driven networking throughout the territory.

• Build and manage a qualified pipeline from initial prospecting through close, maintaining accurate activity tracking within CRM tools.

• Develop strong relationships with end users, integrators, contractors, and partners to expand presence within secure and specialized project environments.


Qualifications of the Regional Account Manager – Government Specialist:


• 3+ years of successful sales experience within the federal or government contracting market.

• Proven track record of new business development in a hunter‑style role.

• Experience supporting secure government or SCIF‑related projects strongly preferred.

• Ability to navigate federal buying processes and engage multiple stakeholder groups.

• Comfortable with frequent in‑person customer engagement and regional travel.

• Experience using CRM platforms to manage pipeline and activity.


Compensation of the Regional Account Manager – Government Specialist:


• Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 (based on experience) with $30,000 commission potential and annual accelerators (commission paid out quarterly)
