Senior Full Stack API Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Full Stack API Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team for a leader in the finance industry. The Senior Full Stack API Engineer role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong backend API expertise and modern frontend development skills in cloud environments. This position is a fulltime W2 contract for 18 months with potential to extend.

Responsibilities of the Senior Full Stack API Engineer:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs supporting core financial platforms.

• Build and enhance frontend components using Angular to support user-facing applications.

• Develop backend services using Java with a focus on performance and reliability.

• Integrate applications with cloud-based services and infrastructure on AWS.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and QA teams.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications of the Senior Full Stack API Engineer:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong experience with Java and API development (RESTful services).

• Hands-on experience with Angular or similar modern frontend frameworks.

• Experience working in AWS-based cloud environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices.

Compensation for the Senior Full Stack API Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $120,000 - $150,000
