Piper Companies is seeking a Collections Specialist to join an established organization within the medical device and ophthalmic healthcare industry for an onsite contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. The Collections Specialist will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business by managing receivables, engaging with customers to resolve past-due balances, and strengthening overall cash flow while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Responsibilities of the Collections Specialist include:
· Proactively follow up on outstanding customer balances through phone, email, and written outreach while documenting all activity accurately.
· Review aging reports regularly to prioritize delinquent accounts and escalate collection efforts as needed.
· Issue customer invoices, statements, and collection notices in accordance with internal procedures.
· Address billing questions and payment disputes by partnering with internal teams such as Sales, Finance, and Operations.
· Establish and manage payment arrangements in alignment with company guidelines and compliance standards.
Qualifications for the Collections Specialist include:
· High school diploma required; associate degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer collections, accounts receivable, or payment processing in B2B and B2C environments.
· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate professionally and resolve conflicts.
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
· High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail with strong follow-through skills.
Compensation for the Collections Specialist:
Salary Range: $42,000-$52,000/year (USD)
Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
