Piper Companies is seeking a Strategic Partnership Development Leader to support a premier financial institution focused on expanding its consumer lending and membership growth initiatives. The Strategic Partnership Development Leader will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing enterprise-level strategic partnerships that drive adoption of lending products including auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, and small business lending solutions. This position is hybrid in McLean, VA!


Responsibilities of the Strategic Partnership Development Leader include:

  • Identify, develop, and execute strategic partnership opportunities that drive consumer lending growth and membership expansion
  • Build enterprise-level relationships with organizations, associations, universities, affinity groups, and commercial partners
  • Develop partnership strategies focused on expanding adoption of auto loans, personal loans, small business lending products, and credit card offerings
  • Design and execute scalable partnership development playbooks to support long-term portfolio growth initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Executive Leadership teams to align partnership strategies with overall business objectives
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and oversee implementation of co-branded or affinity-based lending programs
  • Drive strategic initiatives such as university partnerships, affinity group lending programs, and enterprise promotional campaigns
  • Analyze market opportunities, competitor partnerships, and industry trends to identify areas for growth
  • Present partnership strategies, pipeline updates, and growth recommendations to executive leadership
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external partners while serving as a trusted advisor internally

Qualifications for the Strategic Partnership Development Leader include:

  • 8+ years of experience in strategic partnership development, business development, or alliance management within financial services or consumer banking
  • Proven experience developing enterprise partnerships that drive lending portfolio growth and customer acquisition
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending products including auto loans, personal loans, credit cards, and small business lending
  • Experience working within financial institutions, credit unions, fintech organizations, or large banking environments preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage high-value strategic partnerships
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, product, and executive leadership teams
  • Strong executive presence, communication skills, and relationship management abilities
  • Ability to operate strategically while also driving execution and measurable business outcomes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience supporting affinity partnerships, co-branded financial products, or enterprise sponsorship agreements
  • Existing network within financial services, higher education, affinity organizations, or automotive industries
  • Prior experience working with organizations similar to Navy Federal, Capital One, or other consumer-focused lending institutions
  • Consulting background with experience building partnership frameworks and growth strategies
  • Experience supporting consumer portfolio expansion initiatives at scale

Compensation for the Strategic Partnership Development Leader includes:

  • Salary: $180,000 – $250,000+ depending on experience
  • Opportunity for performance incentives and long-term upside potential
