Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Principal Developer Product Marketing Manager – Developer GTM Strategy to define and scale positioning for a developer-first connectivity and data platform. This role is responsible for shaping go-to-market strategy, competitive positioning, and technical messaging for engineering-led buyers, including software engineers, data engineers, technical product managers, and platform architects who evaluate products through hands-on technical validation. The Principal Developer Product Marketing Manager position is a full-time remote position.

Responsibilities for the Principal Developer Product Marketing Manager include:

·      Owning developer GTM strategy and positioning for a connectivity platform, with a focus on engineers and technical evaluators who validate products through APIs, documentation, and hands-on experimentation.

·      Defining clear, defensible messaging that explains build-versus-buy tradeoffs and articulates value around connectivity breadth, feature completeness, operational control, and scalability in language developers use during evaluations.

·      Building competitive positioning against build-in-house approaches, open-source alternatives, and competing connectivity and integration solutions that withstand deep technical scrutiny.

·      Developing value narratives across core developer use cases, including analytics pipelines, AI-enabled workflows, automations, and data ingestion, grounded in real-world implementation patterns.

·      Defining and executing go-to-market plans for new developer features, connector releases, and platform capabilities in partnership with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

·      Creating technically credible developer content, including quickstart guides, integration tutorials, architecture documentation, authentication references, and reference implementations that engineers can clone, run, and adapt.

Qualifications for the Principal Developer Product Marketing Manager include:

·      7+ years of experience in product marketing, developer relations, or technical content within developer tools, data infrastructure, or connectivity platforms (or 5+ years with a relevant advanced degree).

·      Hands-on API experience, including reading documentation, making API calls, writing code samples, and troubleshooting authentication and integration issues.

·      Demonstrated ability to create high-quality technical content such as quick starts, integration guides, architecture documentation, and reference material that developers actively use.

·      Strong instinct for developer experience, including the ability to identify broken samples, unclear onboarding, or misleading documentation and drive fixes.

·      Practical development experience is sufficient to write functional code examples, read codebases, and engage credibly with engineering teams.

·      Familiarity with connectivity technologies and patterns such as REST, JDBC/ODBC, OAuth, API keys, SSO, and SaaS data ecosystems.

·      Background in data integration technologies including APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, analytics platforms, and modern data infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).

Compensation for the Principal Developer Product Marketing Manager includes:

·      Salary range: $225,000 - $250,000

·      Comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, holidays, and sick leave as required by law.
