Senior Survey Project Manager

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Survey Project Manager to lead complex land surveying projects supporting large‑scale infrastructure initiatives through on-site work in Columbia, SC. This role is ideal for a licensed survey professional with strong project management experience who excels at balancing field operations, client engagement, and team leadership.

Responsibilities of the Senior Survey Project Manager:  

• Lead land surveying projects from kickoff through closeout, ensuring compliance with quality standards, client requirements, schedules, budgets, and state regulations.

• Oversee daily field and office operations while developing project plans, staffing strategies, budgets, proposals, contracts, and billing schedules.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and supporting projects across infrastructure sectors including energy, utilities, and renewables.

• Monitor financial performance, mentor and develop project staff, and provide regular status updates and reporting to leadership.

Qualifications of the Senior Survey Project Manager:   

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license 

• Proven experience managing complex land surveying projects and leading survey teams.

• Strong technical proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads (ORD), and the MS Office Suite.

• Collaborative leadership approach with a demonstrated commitment to mentorship, quality, and operational efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience).

Compensation of the Senior Survey Project Manager:   

• Salary Range: $140,000 - $165,000 (based on experience)
