Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support and modernize enterprise infrastructure within the insurance and financial services industry. The Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with experience balancing legacy systems and modern cloud, automation, and reliability practices. The Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer role is a direct placement role and requires you to work on site in Durham, NC 3 days per week.
Responsibilities of the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- Design and maintain synthetic monitoring for applications, services, and APIs.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and telemetry to improve observability and reliability.
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code for cloud and infrastructure resources.
- Troubleshoot cloud, SaaS, and hybrid infrastructure issues.
Requirements of the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- Bachelors of Science Degree
- Experience supporting both traditional infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Strong background in monitoring, observability, and alerting tools.
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tools.
- Experience with Windows Server and Entra ID (Azure AD).
Compensation for the Site Reliability & Infrastructure Automation Engineer:
- $110,000 - $140,000 base + bonus + LTI
