Senior Software Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a mission-driven organization in the healthcare technology space for a fully remote, permanent position with occasional travel for in-person collaboration. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in building and scaling an internally facing platform that supports care teams working with underserved populations across multiple states.

Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer include:

· Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and cloud-native services to support internal operations at scale.

· Build and evolve backend services and data models that unify disparate data sources into a single, reliable view for care teams.

· Apply AI-enabled development tools in daily workflows to accelerate coding, testing, and delivery while maintaining high quality standards.

· Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions, including scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.

· Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders while participating in live coding, design reviews, and technical interviews.

Qualifications for the Senior Software Engineer include:

· 6+ years of professional experience as a full stack engineer working across frontend and backend systems.

· Strong hands-on experience with React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and AWS-based infrastructure.

· Demonstrated use of AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to enhance productivity, problem-solving, and software delivery.

· Comfort with live coding exercises, systems design discussions, and ownership of features end to end.

· Experience applying secure development practices and working within structured SDLC environments.

Compensation for the Senior Software Engineer:

Salary Range: $170,000-$180,000/year (USD) + 10% bonus
