Piper Companies is seeking a Vice President of Solutions to lead pre-sales strategy and technical sales execution for a B2B SaaS organization. The Vice President of Solutions role is ideal for a senior leader with deep experience in Solutions Engineering and Technical Sales who can partner closely with Sales to drive revenue, articulate value, and lead high-impact pre-sales teams.
Responsibilities of the Vice President of Solutions:
• Lead and scale the pre-sales organization, including Solutions Engineering and Technical Sales teams, supporting B2B SaaS sales efforts.
• Partner closely with Sales leadership to align pre-sales strategy with revenue goals and go-to-market initiatives.
• Own technical discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept strategy across the sales lifecycle.
• Serve as a senior technical and business advisor to prospective customers, translating complex requirements into scalable solutions.
• Develop and refine pre-sales processes, methodologies, and best practices to improve win rates and sales efficiency.
• Mentor and manage managers and senior individual contributors within the Solutions organization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to ensure feedback from the field informs roadmap and positioning.
• Support a remote-first team with occasional customer-facing or internal travel as needed.
Qualifications of the Vice President of Solutions:
• 10+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales, or pre-sales roles within a B2B SaaS environment.
• 5+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing pre-sales or technical sales teams.
• Strong background supporting complex B2B sales cycles and enterprise customers.
• Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into clear business value for executive and technical stakeholders.
• Experience building scalable pre-sales frameworks, metrics, and enablement programs.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive presence skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote environment.
Compensation for the Vice President of Solutions includes:
• Salary range: $200,000 – $230,000 with a 70/30 base-to-variable compensation split
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
• Fully remote role with occasional travel
