Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist

Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a preclinical laboratory company located in Norton Shores, MI.

Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:

· Perform independent analysis and determine sample acceptability based on established criteria

· Conduct advanced processing of blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and other specimens in accordance with SOPs and sponsor requirements

· Operate and monitor laboratory instrumentation (chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis analyzers)

· Review quality control, preventative maintenance data, and ensure GLP compliance

· Execute equipment validation, calibrations, and performance evaluations

· Prepare and evaluate reagents, controls, and calibrators

· Analyze microbiological samples and support advanced testing procedures

· Document, review, and maintain laboratory data in compliance with established systems

· Write and implement standard operating procedures and validation scripts

· Pilot new procedures and support process improvement initiatives

· Coordinate sample workflow and communicate findings with internal teams, Study Directors, and Sponsors

· Train and mentor laboratory staff

Qualifications for the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:

· BA/BS in a relevant discipline (Associate degree acceptable)

· 5+ years of medical laboratory experience (healthcare or preclinical environment)

· Strong experience with hematology analyzers and laboratory instrumentation

· ASCP or AMT certification preferred

· Organized, adaptable, with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation for Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist includes:

· Rate Range: $90,000 – $100,000+, depending on experience

· Comprehensive Benefit Package: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as Required by Law
