Piper Companies is seeking a Therapeutic Strategy Lead to drive clinical development strategy and scientific leadership within a high-growth, global clinical research environment. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead will partner across business development, clinical operations, and medical teams to design and win complex clinical studies while building relationships with key investigators and opinion leaders. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead will play a critical role in shaping protocol design, feasibility, and client engagement strategy for late-stage programs. The Therapeutic Strategy Lead is a remote position requiring strong therapeutic expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to engage directly with Principal Investigators and stakeholders.
Responsibilities for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead:
- Lead therapeutic strategy for clinical programs, including protocol design, feasibility assessments, and scientific input for late-stage trials
- Serve as the clinical subject matter expert in proposals, bid defenses, and RFP responses to help win large-scale studies
- Build and maintain relationships with KOLs, investigators, and clinical sites to improve enrollment strategy and trial execution
- Translate scientific and therapeutic insights into operational plans, including timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
- Partner cross-functionally with clinical, regulatory, and business teams to ensure programs are both scientifically sound and commercially competitive; ideal for someone who wants direct influence on study wins and clinical strategy
Qualifications for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead include:
- Experience: Significant experience in drug development, therapeutic strategy, or clinical program leadership within a CRO, sponsor, or academic setting
- Ability to directly engage with Principal Investigators and contribute to business development efforts
- Strong scientific background in oncology (solid tumors), CNS, or autoimmune diseases
- Degree: Advanced degree required (MD, PhD, or PharmD preferred; MD candidates highly prioritized)
- Experience contributing to proposals, study design, and RFP strategy in regulated clinical environments
Compensation for the Therapeutic Strategy Lead includes:
- Salary: $350,000-$400,000 annually, based on experience
