Piper Companies is seeking a VP Solutions to lead a high-impact pre-sales organization within an enterprise SaaS and AI-driven environment. The VP Solutions is a remote role with quarterly travel requirements. The VP Solutions will be responsible for driving global revenue growth by building and scaling a best-in-class solutions engineering and industry expert function that accelerates deal cycles and improves win rates. The VP Solutions will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing to translate complex client challenges into compelling business value narratives.
Responsibilities for the VP Solutions:
• Lead and scale a global team of Solution Engineers and Industry Experts responsible for technical discovery, demos, POCs, and enterprise deal support
• Standardize pre-sales methodologies including demo excellence, POC execution, and technical win strategies to improve conversion and shorten sales cycles
• Establish and optimize SE engagement models, coverage ratios, and capacity planning across enterprise and mid-market segments
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Marketing to refine go-to-market strategies and develop business value-driven messaging
• Build industry-specific solution frameworks, ROI models, and use case libraries that elevate credibility in enterprise pursuits
Qualifications for the VP Solutions include:
• 10+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales, or Pre-Sales within enterprise software, with 5+ years in a leadership role (Director level or above)
• Proven experience managing and scaling teams of 15-20+ pre-sales professionals, including Solution Engineers and/or Industry SMEs
• Demonstrated success improving deal velocity, win rates, and pipeline conversion through structured pre-sales programs
• Strong background in SaaS environments (AI knowledge or exposure preferred) with deep understanding of APIs, cloud architectures, and integrations
• Experience engaging with C-suite stakeholders in complex, multi-threaded enterprise sales cycles
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
Compensation for the VP Solutions includes:
• Salary range: $190,000-$240,000 annually, based on experience
