IT Systems Specialist Lead

Piper Companies is seeking an IT Systems Specialist Lead to join a well-established organization within the industrial and manufacturing technology sector. The IT Systems Specialist Lead will play a critical role in supporting and modernizing a complex mix of legacy and modern application environments while providing architectural leadership across IT, OT, and cloud-integrated systems.

Responsibilities of the IT Systems Specialist Lead:

• Lead technical ownership of enterprise systems spanning legacy and modern application stacks.

• Support and modernize mixed .NET Framework environments, including Classic ASP, VB6, VBScript, MSMQ, and IIS-based systems.

• Design, support, and enhance modern web applications using C#, Angular, and related technologies.

• Establish design standards and ensure architectural alignment across on-premise, OT, IT, and cloud environments.

• Own and guide complex system integrations, including SCADA/PLC to application layers and MES/MOM to SAP integrations.

• Serve as a senior technical decision-maker across interconnected systems and platforms.

• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering and infrastructure teams.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure system reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications of the IT Systems Specialist Lead:

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience supporting enterprise systems and applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with legacy Microsoft-based technologies (Classic ASP, VB6, VBScript, MSMQ).

• Expertise in modern Microsoft development stacks including C#, Angular, and IIS-hosted applications.

• Extensive experience with SQL Server (2008 R2 through 2022).

• Strong background in Windows Server environments (2008 through 2022).

• Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 endpoint environments.

• Proven ability to lead architectural decisions across IT, OT, and cloud-integrated systems.

• Experience working with industrial systems integrations such as SCADA, PLCs, MES/MOM, and ERP platforms (SAP preferred).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation for the IT Systems Specialist Lead includes:

• Salary range: $130,000 – $155,000 depending on experience
