Piper Companies is seeking a Customer Service Representative to support a growing organization within the insurance and financial services industry. The Customer Service Representative will focus on delivering an exceptional client experience while supporting annuity and life insurance products, and the Customer Service Representative will play a key role in building strong, long-term client relationships. The Customer Service Representative role requires you to sit on site 3 days per week in Durham, NC and working from 9-6 Monday through Friday.


Responsibilities of the Customer Service Representative:

  • Manage client communications via phone, email, chat, and text regarding service and claims needs.
  • Resolve client requests efficiently, escalating issues only when necessary and following through to completion.
  • Process service transactions including withdrawals, surrenders, and ownership or beneficiary changes.
  • Explain contract benefits and product information in a clear, client-friendly manner.
  • Support contract retention efforts and promote use of digital client platforms.
  • Provide technical assistance with the client portal and support special projects as needed.

Requirements of the Customer Service Representative:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant customer service or call center experience.
  • Ability to pass call center simulation testing demonstrating multitasking skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC skills.

Compensation for the Customer Service Representative:

  • $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
  • Full Comprehensive Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, PTO, Paid Holidays, sick leave if required by law, and additional benefits eligibility.
