AI Platform Operations Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an AI Platform Operations Engineer to join an enterprise technology organization supporting large-scale AI and Microsoft productivity platforms. The AI Platform Operations Engineer will own platform performance, governance, and operational excellence for enterprise AI tools including Copilot, Claude, and similar solutions. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite in Raleigh, NC or alternative locations in Tampa, FL; Bridgewater, NJ; or New York, NY. Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities for the AI Platform Operations Engineer:

• Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise AI platforms including monitoring, incident resolution, and escalations
• Oversee governance including licensing, provisioning, access management, and compliance
• Support change management and coordinate vendor-driven feature rollouts
• Build automation workflows using PowerShell, Power Automate, or similar tools
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams
• Partner with IT, security, and business teams to ensure platform reliability and scalability
• Own issue escalation workflows and act as a primary point of contact for platform support
• Continuously improve operational processes and platform performance

Requirements for the AI Platform Operations Engineer:

• 8+ years of experience in IT operations, platform administration, or cloud environments
• Strong experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
• Proven background in incident, problem, and change management
• Experience administering enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365 tenants
• Experience with AI platforms or tools such as Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies
• Experience with platform administration, governance, or tenant administration
• Proficiency with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Power Platform
• Experience with governance, compliance, access management, and licensing
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Compensation for the AI Platform Operations Engineer:

• Salary range: $160,000 to $175,600, depending on experience
• Eligible for annual bonus and additional incentives
